Missions Prayer Focus: Chris & Dana Sowell – Guatemala Please be praying for Chris and Dana Sowell, along with Joey and Jordan and their mission team of 15, as they fly out from Pensacola tomorrow for a short-term trip to Guatemala. Over the weekend they will: Celebrate Christmas with Pastor Max and his family on Friday night, sharing an American traditional Christmas meal and gifts Visit the village of El Astillero on Saturday to distribute Christmas presents, host a pizza party for the children, and present a Christmas cantata with a live nativity Hold a dedication service on Sunday, December 7, for the brand new church they have been building over the last six months Chris will also be introducing the Church Life Missional Model to key pastors in Guatemala, laying the groundwork for deeper discipleship, stronger church involvement, and a structure that can be implemented more fully when the team returns in the summer. This new church is designed to be a launching pad for ongoing ministry, evangelism, and social outreach in the village. Chris and Dana have served in Guatemala for thirteen years, and have been working specifically in this village for ten years. Please pray for: Safe travel, protection, and health for the entire team Strong favor and open doors as Chris shares the Church Life Missional Model with pastors Clarity and unity around the gospel, especially in places where people believe salvation is earned by good works A powerful move of the Holy Spirit during the Christmas celebrations, the cantata, and the church dedication Long-term fruit in the village, that true disciples would be raised up who will reach their own community for Jesus Fresh strength, encouragement, and provision for Chris, Dana, Joey, and Jordan as they continue this long term work Thank you for standing with the Sowell family and their team in prayer. Our Hub and network are covering them, and we believe this trip will help spark renewed life and mission in Guatemala.
